Can I Do a White Card Online in Queensland?
Queensland White Card delivery rules can be confusing. Here is what the regulator requires and how to avoid enrolling in an unsuitable course.

If you are searching for an “online White Card Queensland” course, pause before paying. WorkSafe Queensland’s current public guidance says you need to complete face-to-face training with an approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
That means a cheap, self-paced online course advertised from another state may not meet the requirements for a Queensland-issued general construction induction card.
What does face-to-face training mean?
The safest approach is to choose an approved Queensland RTO and confirm how its course is delivered before enrolling. Training should give the trainer a genuine opportunity to teach, answer questions, verify identity and assess your understanding.
WorkSafe Queensland refers to the credential as the general construction induction training card, commonly called a White Card. The required unit is CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
Why the training is not just a formality
Construction induction introduces the safety knowledge every worker needs before entering an operational site. It includes:
- basic work health and safety duties
- identifying common construction hazards
- selecting and following risk controls
- understanding signs, personal protective equipment and site communication
- responding to incidents and emergencies
A White Card does not make someone competent in a trade or authorise other high-risk work. It establishes the common safety foundation that site-specific induction and job training build on.
How to check a provider before paying

- Is the provider a real RTO with CPCWHS1001 on its scope?
- Is it authorised to provide general construction induction training in Queensland?
- Does the advertised delivery match current Queensland requirements?
