Face-to-Face (1 Day)

$295 per person. Full theory and practical components in a single day, observing three different working-at-heights scenarios. Small classes at our Capalaba centre.

Combined Working at Heights + EWP

$550 per person. Face-to-face training covering both Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform operation under 11m. Includes the EWP Competency Card (Yellow Card).

No payment is required at the time of booking.

What Is Working at Heights Training?

Working at Heights training (unit RIIWHS204E: Work safely at heights) teaches workers how to operate safely while working at height. It combines classroom theory with practical demonstrations, covering hazard identification, risk assessment and the correct use of personal protective equipment and fall-arrest systems.

Why It's Required

Falls from height are a leading cause of workplace injury. Anyone who conducts or supervises work at height should be trained to identify hazards, prepare a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS), and use fall-protection equipment correctly.

Nationally Recognised

On completion you receive a Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204E, recognised nationally by RTO 32376 across all Australian states and territories.

Requirements & Assessment

Prerequisites

  • No prior experience working at heights is required.
  • Bring valid photo identification (e.g. driver licence).
  • A reasonable level of fitness is required for the practical component.
  • Wear enclosed footwear and weather-appropriate clothing for the practical session.

Assessment

  • A written/verbal knowledge assessment covering hazard identification, SWMS, PPE and fall-arrest systems.
  • A practical assessment demonstrating safe work across working-at-heights scenarios.

Who Needs Working at Heights Training?

Anyone who conducts or supervises work at height should complete Working at Heights training, including:

Working at Heights competency is routinely required across construction, maintenance, telecommunications and facilities sectors, and is commonly checked on-site.

Do I need a Working at Heights certificate?

If you conduct or supervise work at height, your employer is required to ensure you are trained and competent. A Statement of Attainment for RIIWHS204E is the nationally recognised way to demonstrate that competency.

How long does the course take?

The face-to-face course runs over a single day, combining theory and practical components at our Capalaba training centre.

What topics are covered?

Hazard identification, risk assessment and SWMS preparation, correct use of PPE, and fall-arrest systems, with practical demonstrations across three working-at-heights scenarios.

What does it cost?

Face-to-face training is $295 per person. A combined Working at Heights + EWP (under 11m) course is available for $550 per person and includes the EWP Yellow Card.

Yes. The combined course covers both Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform operation under 11m in one booking, delivered face-to-face. It includes the EWP Competency Card (Yellow Card).
