What Is a Day in the Life of a Supply Chain Graduate Like?
18 June 2024 · Justine Barber · 1 min read
Supply chain and logistics keep the country moving, and the work is far more varied than people expect. Here is what a day can look like for someone who has completed a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations.
Starting the shift
The day usually begins with a quick team brief and a check of the day’s inbound and outbound schedule. Safety comes first - a look over equipment, walkways and any forklift or order-picker you will be operating.
Across the day
- Receiving and checking deliveries against documentation
- Picking, packing and dispatching orders to deadlines
- Operating forklifts or order-picking equipment where licensed
- Using a warehouse management system to track stock
- Stocktaking, replenishment and keeping the area clean and safe
Why people enjoy it
It is active, hands-on work with a clear sense of progress - orders out the door, trucks loaded, targets met. There is also a genuine career ladder, from operator to team leader, supervisor and warehouse manager.
A Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations from EDB Training Services can include your forklift licence, so you finish job-ready.
