How to Balance Work and Study While Completing a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations

13 May 2024 · EDB Training Services · 1 min read

Most people studying a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations are already working - often in the very industry they are training for. Balancing the two is very achievable with a bit of planning.

Use the traineeship advantage

If you study as a trainee, much of your learning happens on the job under a training contract, so your work and study reinforce each other rather than compete. What you do at work counts towards your qualification.

Practical tips

  • Set a regular, realistic study slot each week and protect it
  • Break assessments into small steps rather than leaving them to the deadline
  • Apply what you learn directly at work - it cements the knowledge
  • Talk to your trainer early if you fall behind; they would rather help than chase
  • Keep your employer in the loop so they can support your study time

Look after yourself

Rest matters. Trying to do everything at once leads to burnout, so pace the workload and celebrate progress as each unit is completed.

EDB Training Services supports working students and trainees with flexible delivery and hands-on trainer support throughout the qualification.
