What is an EWP ticket?
EWP Ticket training (unit RIIHAN301E: Conduct elevating work platform operations) covers the safe operation of scissor lifts and similar elevating work platforms under 11m, combining classroom theory with hands-on practical instruction.
Why It's Required
Operating an elevated work platform without a valid ticket is illegal in Australian workplaces. The course ensures operators understand safe operating procedures, pre-operational checks, and emergency procedures.
Nationally Recognised
Once issued, your EWP ticket is valid for 5 years and recognised for elevated work platform operation across all Australian states and territories.

Requirements & assessment
Prerequisites
- No prior experience operating an EWP is required.
- Bring 3 forms of valid identification (e.g. driver licence, Medicare card, bank card).
- A reasonable level of fitness is required for the practical component.
Assessment
- A written/verbal knowledge assessment covering safety procedures, equipment checks, and emergency procedures.
- A practical operation assessment on a scissor lift or similar EWP under 11m.

Your EWP ticket is valid for 5 years from the date of issue. After that, a refresher course is required.

The standard course is $300 per person, or $200 for a refresher for current ticket holders. Group and onsite training options are also available.
What if I need to operate a boom-type EWP over 11m?
That requires a separate High Risk Work "WP" licence (TLILIC0005) - see the Boom-Type EWP section below for details.
Need to operate a boom-type EWP over 11m?
You'll need a High Risk Work "WP" licence. We provide an on-site induction and assessment at your workplace, including a written exam, load calculations, and a practical performance evaluation. Operators must be 18 years or older.
Delivered on-site only. Not available at our Capalaba facility.
