RSG Course (Responsible Service of Gambling)
Nationally recognised RSG certification for staff working in Queensland venues with gaming machines, keno or TAB facilities.
- Price
- $60
- Unit
- SITHGAM022
- Who it’s for
- Staff in licensed venues that offer gambling - gaming rooms, keno, TAB and pokies. Most Queensland venues with gaming machines require it alongside RSA, so the two are usually done together.
- Prerequisites
- None. There are no formal prerequisites and no minimum age. Bring valid photo ID (driver licence or passport) and something to write with.
- Duration
- RSG and RSA run together as a single day at our Capalaba centre. If you only need RSG, get in touch and we will confirm the timing for that session.
- What’s assessed
- A short written assessment completed on the day, covering responsible gambling practices, recognising and responding to problem gambling, and your obligations in a Queensland gaming venue.
- What you leave with
- A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for SITHGAM022. In Queensland this does not expire - it remains valid indefinitely, so long as the training was completed after 2002.
Part of RSA / RSG / Barista.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need RSG as well as RSA?
If your venue has gaming machines, keno or a TAB, you will generally need both. RSA covers serving alcohol; RSG covers gambling. They run together in one day.
Does my RSG expire?
No. In Queensland an RSG Statement of Attainment remains valid indefinitely. Training completed before 2002 is the only exception and is no longer recognised.
Is there a minimum age?
There is no minimum age to complete the RSG course itself. Your venue may still have its own rules about which roles staff can work in, so check with your employer.
