- Who it’s for
- Anyone who serves or supplies alcohol in Queensland - bar staff, bottle shop staff, restaurant and cafe staff, and venue managers. Under the Liquor Act 1992 anyone serving or supplying alcohol must hold a current RSA certificate, whatever their age.
- Prerequisites
- None. There are no formal prerequisites and no minimum age - under the Liquor Act 1992 there is no age restriction on holding an RSA certificate. Bring valid photo ID (driver licence or passport) and something to write with.
- Duration
- RSA and RSG run together as a single day at our Capalaba centre. If you only need RSA, get in touch and we will confirm the timing for that session.
- What’s assessed
- A short written assessment completed on the day, covering responsible service practices, refusal of service, and your obligations under Queensland liquor law.
- What you leave with
- A nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for SITHFAB021. In Queensland this does not expire - it remains valid indefinitely, so long as the training was completed after 2002.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be 18 to get my RSA?
No. Under the Liquor Act 1992 there is no minimum age to hold an RSA certificate, and under-18s can serve or supply alcohol in hotels, restaurants and cafes as long as the venue does not hold an adult entertainment permit.
Does my RSA expire?
No. In Queensland an RSA Statement of Attainment remains valid indefinitely. The only exception is training completed before 2002, which is no longer recognised and needs to be redone.
Should I do RSG at the same time?
Most venues with gaming machines want both. RSA and RSG run together in one day, and adding the barista course makes it our two-day hospitality package.
