Order-Picker Forklift Licence (LO)

Who it’s for

Warehouse and logistics staff who operate order-picking equipment, where the operator's controls travel with the load carriage as it lifts. An LF forklift licence does not cover this equipment - LO is a separate licence class.

Prerequisites

You must be 18 years old to sit the assessment, and bring three forms of valid identification (for example a driver licence, Medicare card and bank card). Because this licence is delivered at your workplace, you also need suitable order-picking equipment on site and a licensed supervisor who can oversee your practical training between the two attendance days.

Duration

Delivered at your workplace in three stages - an induction day with our trainer, a period of supervised practical training on your own equipment with your licensed supervisor, then an assessment day. The middle stage runs at whatever pace suits your roster.

What’s assessed

A closed-book written exam and a practical assessment on the order-picking equipment you actually use, both covering safe operation, load handling and stability, pedestrian awareness, and pre-start inspection. Your logbook of supervised practice is reviewed as part of the assessment day.

What you leave with

The paperwork to apply for your LO High Risk Work Licence with WorkSafe Queensland.
