- Who it’s for
- Operators of boom-type EWPs with a boom length over 11 metres - boom lifts, cherry pickers and travel towers. The standard EWP ticket covers scissor lifts and similar platforms under 11m; anything above that needs this separate High Risk Work licence.
- Prerequisites
- Operators must be 18 years or older. Because this is delivered at your workplace, you need a suitable boom-type EWP on site and a supervisor who can oversee your practical training between the two attendance days.
- Duration
- Delivered at your workplace in three stages - an induction day with our trainer, a period of supervised practical training on your own machine, then an assessment day. Not available at our Capalaba facility.
- What’s assessed
- A written exam, load calculations, and a practical performance evaluation on the machine at your workplace.
- What you leave with
- The paperwork to apply for your WP High Risk Work Licence with WorkSafe Queensland.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from the standard EWP ticket?
The standard ticket (RIIHAN301E) covers scissor lifts and similar platforms under 11 metres and is a Statement of Attainment. This is a High Risk Work licence issued by WorkSafe Queensland for boom-type platforms over 11 metres, and it is a separate assessment.
Can I do this at your training centre?
No. This licence is delivered on site only, on your own machine. Our Capalaba facility runs the standard under-11m EWP course.
Do I need the under-11m ticket first?
No, they are separate. Which one you need depends on the boom length of the platform you operate, not on holding one before the other.
