A Legal Requirement You Can’t Ignore
In Queensland, operating a forklift without proper certification is a breach of the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011. A forklift licence is officially classified as a High Risk Work Licence (LF class) and must be obtained through a recognised training provider like EDB Training Services.
To get your licence, you need to:
- Complete a course delivered by a registered training organisation (RTO).
- Pass a knowledge-based written assessment and a hands-on practical test.
- Lodge your application with WHSQ (Workplace Health and Safety Queensland), along with your AS1 form, proof of ID, and application fee.
- We make this process seamless — walking you through every requirement and helping with all the documentation so you can focus on your training.
What Makes a Forklift Licence So Valuable in Wakerley?
A forklift licence is not just a formality, it is a valuable asset that opens up real career opportunities. Licensed forklift operators are employed in many dozens of industries including freight and logistics, transport, civil works, steel fabrication, food production and large scale warehousing.
People who have this ticket are in high demand in areas close to Wakerley such as Port of Brisbane and Lytton and the opportunities are growing rapidly. Whether you are looking for full time employment, weekend contract work, or traineeship, having your licence puts you in a stronger position and enables you to start earning right away.
Many employers shortlist applicants on the basis of licensing alone, and completing your training with us ensures you are not only licensed, but job ready. The process goes beyond passing tests because safety stands as the most important factor for survival.
Operating a forklift requires both personal responsibility and professional competence. Operating a forklift results in serious injuries alongside property destruction and death. We exceed minimum requirements in our training because of this.
Students receive training to develop critical thinking skills and safety-conscious behaviors when working under high-pressure conditions at loading docks, production zones, and shared spaces.
You’ll learn how to:
- Perform risk assessments to ensure safety before starting to operate.
- Master safe responses for managing unexpected hazards which occur in real-world situations.
- Safety of coworkers and pedestrians must be your main priority.
- Work within Queensland’s health and safety laws
- Workers who demonstrate expected operational safety habits based on their professional skills will be selected by employers.
- Our main goal is to train operators who maintain safety while performing their work duties.
