Understanding Queensland White Card Requirements

All workers who participate in construction activities need to obtain their White Card as a mandatory requirement. The General Construction Induction Card, also known as the White Card, serves as a legal requirement which Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) enforces for all personnel accessing construction sites.

The following groups need to obtain their White Card: Labourers, apprentices, tradespeople, site managers, supervisors, and anyone accessing construction zones for work.

The Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (QLD) requires workers to finish CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) such as EDB Training Services. The training program results in a Statement of Attainment, which enables students to obtain their official White Card for working throughout Queensland and Australia.
